My one and only right now. I take this bad boy with me everywhere. It’s primary role is for photography, but now that I’ve started doing YouTube, I use it a bit for filming as well. But I can’t do both at the same time, so it can’t really be my primary video camera… more on that below.
Sony FE 40mm f2.5 G
My main and favorite lens. It’s compact and lightweight making my kit easy to hold and carry for longer periods of time. I love the look you get from this lens, it’s very close to what the eye sees naturally.
Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 Di III VXD G2
What a mouthful, right? This is a great all around lens. I’d very much love to upgrade to the Sony 24-70mm f2.8 GM II, but sadly I do not have the money just yet. So I’ve opted for this lens in the meantime. I love my 40mm prime, but when I want a little more versatility I go with this one.
Sony FE 16-25mm f2.8 G
The first lens I bought along with my camera body, instead of getting the kit lens. Originally planned to use this for real estate photography but it’s grown into a great piece of kit for landscapes and astrophotography!
Viltrox 28mm F4.5
I don’t use this lens nearly as much now that I have the 40mm. It’s great for a super small pancake lens. It makes the A7C almost pocketable.
Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra
My primary video camera for now, when I’m in the field, since I can’t exactly record myself taking pictures with my main camera. The one thing I hate about filming with this is the lack of ability to record in log and also the over processed output you get from the camera (even when using the Blackmagic Camera app).
GoPro HERO8 Black
I mainly use this on a chest mount for recording POV shots of me doing photography or hiking, etc. I honestly don’t love the video quality or the field of view you get with this all that much, but it’s a piece of kit I already owned so I try and use it for now.
DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Creator Combo
I just ordered this and am still waiting for it to come in the mail. I can’t wait to start filming with it! I hear really great things. I will let you know how it goes! Super excited for it to arrive!

I love this combo. It’s a great way to carry my main camera and free up space in my bag, or… I can just leave my bag at home! Plus the mounting plate works well with tripods that use this style of mounting plate (which I don’t actually own yet).

Last buy not least, I use this bag to carry all my gear around with me. And when paired with the strap above, I can fit basically everything else I need in here and just carry my camera on the strap. Which is what you want to do anyways, so your camera is always at the ready!
